Community-Based Awards

Baldwin Wallace University is partnering with a select number of organizations in Northeast Ohio that are preparing young people to live productive, fulfilling and service-oriented lives. The awards outlined below are designed to encourage future college students, including first-generation students, to participate in community-based organizations and be in a stronger position to gain access to a high-quality college education.

Students may receive either a community-based award or a merit scholarship (which includes any award provided in place of a merit scholarship such as the Yellow Jacket Success Grant or RaiseMe micro scholarships for those who do not qualify for a merit scholarship). Students will receive whichever award is of greatest value. Students may not receive more than one community-based award or merit scholarship - only one community-based award or merit scholarship (or equivalent) will be provided. Like merit scholarships and their equivalent, community-based awards are renewable for four years should students maintain good academic standing.

Students do not need to submit an additional application for the award but simply list their involvement with the community-based organization on their application to BW. As a reminder, any and all information submitted in the student's college application must be true and accurate. Any misrepresentation on a student's application for admission may lead to the disqualification of that student for admission to BW.
