Favorite quote: "Be somebody who makes everyone feel like a somebody."
Biggest mistake as a first-year student? What did you learn? I think my biggest mistake as a first year student was not pushing myself more to get involved with BW. I think part of this reason is because I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone, but once I started joining groups and getting involved I always just wanted to do more. I learned to start with pushing yourself to try new things from the start because you will be surprised with the outcome, and especially yourself!
How did you choose your major? It was always something I knew I was meant to do (sounds corny but true). I knew I could make an impact on young minds that not only teaches them content skills, but life skills as well.
What has been your best experience at BW? My favorite experience so far at BW has been being a FYE course assistant. I love being able to mentor first years, make them feel acclimated to their new environment, and also just being a friend they can rely on even after the course has finished.
Favorite spot on campus? My favorite spot on campus would be the Cyber Café. It's a great place to study, get coffee, and meet up with friends!
What is the one thing you want the incoming students to know as they get ready for their summer orientation experience? I would want students to know to have fun and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Also, just be yourself!
What is one major piece of advice you would give new incoming students to help them succeed in their first year at BW? I would tell them to take things easy and don't stress about things that won't matter in a month. A year goes by faster than you think so stay true to yourself, have fun, and focus on the reason why you started.
