Major: Music Education
Favorite quote: "Music...can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable." ― Leonard Bernstein
Biggest mistake as a first-year student? What did you learn? My biggest mistake was definitely taking on too many activities right at the start. I learned the value of time management early on.
How did you choose your major? I was inspired by my music teachers throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Music seemed to be my passion as I got older and I'm a firm believer of the philosophy of "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life."
What has been your best experience at BW? Definitely meeting some of the best people. The professors are amazing people and always want you to succeed, and most of the students are extremely welcoming and helpful.
Favorite spot on campus? Definitely the 3rd floor of Boesel Musical Arts Center (BMAC). Everyone in the Conservatory calls this spot "The Bubble." It's such a nice place to sit back and look out at campus and do homework or just relax.
What is the one thing you want the incoming students to know as they get ready for their summer orientation experience? Be open minded when you come to orientation. Also do not be afraid to open up and relax. The orientation staff is here to make your experience the best possible.
What is one major piece of advice you would give new incoming students to help them succeed in their first year at BW? Find a group that you resonate with on campus. Once you find that group, BW will really feel like your home away from home.
