BW alumna runs virtual marketing firm

Photo of Jennifer MalcolmWork-life balance can often seem elusive, but rather than allow it to stay that way, Jennifer Malcolm '98 took charge in making that balance more of a reality. Malcolm, who is currently a student in the BW Hybrid (Online) MBA program, founded and now runs Jennasis & Associates, a virtual workplace offering full-service digital marketing to clients.

Power of the virtual workplace

"When I started the company in 2011," Malcolm shared in an article for Smart Business, "I wanted to create a virtual marketing firm that not only would be leading edge in our work, but also bridge the gap of the seemingly mythical work-life balance that many of us crave."

With a passion for clients' success and a talented team of experts, Jennasis has now grown exponentially and caters to both national and international clients. The company doubled its business in 2018, is on track to do so again this year and even earned features in O, The Oprah Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine in January.

"When I started Jennasis, virtual work was unheard of," Malcolm shared in the magazine features. "But in a short time, its growth has surpassed my initial dreams to become an excellent option for fellow creative people who want to do dynamic work but still be present in life - travel, stay home with kids, or care for aging parents."

Giving back to BW

Malcolm, who studied athletic training, pre-physical therapy and biology as an undergrad at BW, also offers great experiences to BW students through her company. Jenassis partners with BW's Digital Marketing Center for speaking engagements and student internships, among other opportunities.
