Playbill names BW Music Theatre a top 20 Broadway talent pipeline

The publication counted up which universities had the most alumni on Broadway stages during the 2024-25 season.

Baldwin Wallace University once again made Playbill's annual report on the colleges and universities with the most alumni performing in the 2024–25 Broadway season, ending April 29.

Under the headline, "Where Did the Actors of the 2024-25 Broadway Season Go to School?," BW ranked among schools earning honorable mentions, defined by Playbill as universities "that just barely missed making the top 10."

As Playbill took note of BW's robust triple threat talent pipeline, current BW music theatre students added a new performance opportunity right out of the gate this fall with a staged reading of "Assassins."

The BW Music Theatre team added the staged reading to the production calendar as a new tradition to kick off the BWMT academic year, which was directed and music directed by new BW Music Theatre Music Director Richard Biever. New BW Music Theatre Director Jennifer Hemphill will direct the fully-staged fall production of "9 to 5: The Musical" in November.
