Richard Biever is an actor, music director, composer and director, sometimes wearing multiple hats.
Biever starred in and music directed the national tour of the off-Broadway hit "Oil City Symphony" and music directed the national and European tours of "Little Shop of Horrors" and the European tour of "West Side Story." He directed an off-Broadway production of "Side by Side by Sondheim" and the Broadway cast reunion of the musical "Smile" for 54Below in NYC.
He was resident music director for the Downtown Cabaret in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
His directing credits include productions of "Sunday in the Park with George," "Chess," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Parade," "Assassins," "Camelot," "My Fair Lady" and "Matilda." He directed readings of new musicals, including "Harmony, Kansas" and "The Fox Sisters."
Biever’s academic career began at Penn State University, where he taught music theatre performance, history, and graduate and undergraduate directing courses.
He comes to Baldwin Wallace from Nazareth University in Rochester, New York, where he served as program director of musical theatre. Biever is a designated Meisner Teacher, having studied with the Meisner Institute Training Program.
