BW Cincinnati student fosters networking connections to excel in public health

photo of Sophia Henshaw

Ask Cincinnati native Sophia Henshaw '22 about her college experience, and she'll talk about friendships that'll last a lifetime, professors who care about her success and classes that offer hands-on learning.

But zero in on this semester, and she'll quickly tell you about her amazing social justice and service-learning course that pairs her and other students with Seeds of Literacy. For the public health major interested in working in community health in an urban setting, the course is an exciting immersion into the world of nonprofit organizations, grant-writing and advocacy. It's another networking connection that is helping her build valuable career contacts and real-world experience.
