Each year, approximately 17 students enroll in the acting (BFA) major at BW. Auditions are required for all students applying to the acting (BFA) major.

Audition Fee

Once you have requested an audition date, please submit your $75 audition fee. Auditions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, AFTER the $75 audition fee is received. The $75 audition fee covers multiple auditions should you choose to audition for the acting (BFA) major as well as a Conservatory major. If you are also auditioning for the Conservatory of Music, please do not schedule the auditions for the same day.

Your Audition

Prospective students should prepare two contrasting monologues, of which at least one must be by Shakespeare. Total audition time should not exceed four minutes. Bring a current head shot and resume to the audition.

Admission Notification

Because the application process for the acting (BFA) major requires an audition, a decision notification regarding your admission status will be sent by December 15 or March 20, depending on when BW receives your application materials and when you complete your audition.
