First Year Student Admission

Acting (BFA) Audition

Each year 17 students are accepted into the acting (BFA) major. Auditions are required for all students applying to the acting (BFA) major.

Schedule Your Audition

As you complete the application for admission, you will be asked to request your audition date.

Prospective student auditions

Nov. 20; Feb. 19, 25, 26

Audition Fee

Once you have requested an audition date, please submit your $75 audition fee. Auditions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, AFTER the $75 audition fee is received. Acting (BFA) applicants may pay their audition fee prior to completing their application for admission, thereby allowing them to confirm their audition. The $75 audition fee covers multiple auditions should you choose to audition for the acting (BFA) major as well as a Conservatory major. If you are also auditioning for the Conservatory of Music, please do not schedule the auditions on the same day.

Your Audition

Prospective students should prepare two contrasting monologues, of which at least one must be by Shakespeare. Total audition time should not exceed four minutes. Bring a current headshot and resume to the audition.

Admission Notification

Because the application process for the acting (BFA) major requires an audition, a decision notification regarding your admission status will be sent by December 15 or March 20, depending on when BW receives your application materials and when you complete your audition.
