The BW Trustee, in his 22nd year with the NFL Cleveland Browns and Haslam Sports Group, vows "to expand our efforts and prioritize our fans, our community and winning."
David Jenkins '97, president, Haslam Sport Group
Baldwin Wallace University business administration graduate David Jenkins '97 has been promoted to president of Haslam Sports Group (HSG), after serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
In a news release, HSG praised Jenkins, who is in his 22nd year with the Cleveland Browns and parent organization, for the "pivotal role" he played in the creation of HSG in 2020, after the Browns' owners acquired investor-operator rights to Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.
With the addition of a controlling interest in the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023, the family-run conglomerate holds ownership stakes in three of the five major North American professional sports leagues.
"David has done a remarkable job steering and growing our business across Haslam Sports Group. He has assembled an outstanding results-oriented executive team that pushes each other while also working extremely well together," said managing and principal partners Dee and Jimmy Haslam. "We couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this role."
Jenkins said he is "honored and humbled" to take on the new role and praised HSG's leadership for investing in the organization's employees, as well as the community.
"I'm grateful for their trust and the opportunity they've afforded me to lead HSG. We will continue to expand our efforts and prioritize our fans, our community and winning, and I'm thrilled for what's ahead for this organization in Northeast Ohio, Central Ohio, Milwaukee and beyond."
Jenkins "leads the organization's daily business operations and long-term vision, directing all organizational goals related to the business, including financial management, revenue generation, marketing, stadium operations, government relations, and administration."
Jenkins is leading the Browns' future stadium planning process and overseeing the CrossCountry Mortgage Campus expansion project, a mixed-use development adjacent to the team's practice facility up the road from BW in Berea.
Jenkins, who serves on the Baldwin Wallace University Board of Trustees, has also taught a course on finance in the sports industry as an adjunct professor at his alma mater.
