BW begins an exciting new year

An enthusiastic and impressive group of 670 first-year students has joined the Baldwin Wallace community. With high aspirations, they began their college experience at this year's Week of Welcome, which started Aug. 19 with move-in day.

As a group, they are accomplished, diverse and ready to make their mark both on campus and later in the world. They hail from 32 states and have impressive scholastic achievements as well as leadership, service and extracurricular involvement.

Among notable statistics, 25% represent students of color and 65 students are members of the BW Honors Program. One-third of the individuals are first-generation students.

Their academic areas of interest include social sciences and humanities (21%), business (19%), science and technology (18%), performing arts (16%), health (10%), interdisciplinary (10%) and education (6%).

BW also welcomed 110 transfer students, an increase from last year.
