BW begins an exciting new year

August 26, 2019

An enthusiastic and impressive group of 660 first-year students has joined the Baldwin Wallace community. With high aspirations, they began their college experience at this year's Week of Welcome, which started Aug. 21 with move-in day.

As a group, they are accomplished, diverse and ready to make their mark both on campus and later in the world. They hail from 36 states and have impressive scholastic achievements as well as leadership, service and extracurricular involvement.

Among notable statistics, 21% represent students of color and 64 students are members of the BW Honors Program. One-third of the individuals are first-generation students.

Their academic areas of interest include science and technology (22%), performing arts (21%), social sciences and humanities (17%), health (15%), business (13%), interdisciplinary (7%) and education (4%).
