BW Bold & Gold Festival combines Homecoming and Community Day

Stringer hams at the Bold & Gold FestivalIt was an epic gathering of the BW community - students, alumni, parents, local neighbors, friends, and current and retired faculty and staff - all coming together on Saturday, September 15, as BW celebrated a combined Homecoming and Community Day, newly dubbed as the Bold & Gold Festival.

The day also marked the grand opening celebration of the University Market and Front Street Residence Hall development. The Homecoming parade marched right in front of the new mixed-use development which houses a variety of restaurants and shops, including the BW-operated Buzz on Front and Starbucks, which were hopping with customers all morning.

From Front Street to North Quad

Shortly before kick-off, the Marching Yellow Jackets led guests to Finnie Stadium for an afternoon of Homecoming football.

After the gridiron action and crowning of Homecoming royalty, the day was capped off with an invitation to take advantage of Berea "Dine Local!" specials and to attend the first concert of the Conservatory of Music's Kulas Keyboard Series featuring acclaimed pianist Spencer Myer.

What a day! Let's do it again in 2019!
