Submit Articles

BACH: Journal of the Riemenschneider Institute publishes articles on Bach and his world, which includes studies of Bach, his predecessors, his contemporaries, and his family members. Articles about the reception, adaptation, and influence of Bach - from his time to today - are also welcome. The journal invites proposals for individual articles, themed issues, or for reviews of books, scores, recordings, and videos.

Submissions of articles that have not been published, accepted, or submitted elsewhere are welcome. Occasionally, BACH will also consider English translations of important articles in foreign languages. Submissions are normally 9,000-12,000 words, but the journal will consider shorter or longer submissions. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Your submission will receive acknowledgement within a minimum of seven days; we aim for a decision regarding publication within at least three months.

Send submissions in Microsoft Word format to bachjournal@bw.edu. For initial submissions, please include an abstract, the text, and all ancillary materials in one Word document.

Queries may be directed to the editor, Dr. Christina Fuhrmann, at bachjournal@bw.edu.
