What makes BW distinctive for me? BW is distinctive to me is because of our faculty connections and location. Our faculty will provide you the opportunity to meet with employers and organizations that can offer fantastic internship opportunities, experiential learning trips and post-graduate employment opportunities. While we are extremely close to downtown Cleveland, you can explore opportunities with the professional sports teams and renowned organizations located in the city.
What do I love most about Berea and Cleveland? I love how Berea has a quaint, small-town feeling and we can drive 15 minutes to the big city at the same time. You have the opportunity to check out the Cleveland Metroparks, and then you can attend a Browns, Cavs and Guardians game.
What is the most interesting place I have visited? In the United States, I’d pick Sedona, Ariz. The weather was superb and had plenty of scenic locations for hikes. Internationally, I’d choose Cancun, Mexico. I visited Cancun for my sister’s destination wedding and it was a blast!
If I could meet any historical figure, who would it be and why? I’d love the opportunity to meet Drew Brees. He’s my favorite football player of all time, and he inspired me to play the quarterback position. (I wore #9 most of my life because of him.)
My message to prospective students thinking about the value of college and BW: Take the opportunity to visit our campus and meet the faculty and students. I took two visits to BW for both academic and athletic reasons and fell in love with the university. You begin to understand why BW is in the prime location and provides you the opportunity to meet great people and set yourself up for success in your professional career.
