For the 33rd straight year, Baldwin Wallace University is a top-ranked university of choice in U.S. News and World Report's 2027 "Best Colleges" survey, with prestigious placement of #12 in the list of top universities in the Midwest Region.
Also impressive is BW’s #12 ranking (tied) among the Top Private Schools of Regional Universities in the Midwest and #4 listing in the category of Best Colleges for Veterans as a Regional University in the Midwest.
Rounding out the list of important accolades are BW being cited as a Best Value in the Midwest and Best for Social Mobility.
The national ranking organization, U.S. News & World Report, offers students and their families information that can be useful when identifying colleges that best meet their needs. A wide range of data sources are used to calculate the rankings, which are annually reported.
U.S. News rankings evaluate approximately 1,500 national colleges and universities on measures of academic quality, emphasizing social mobility and outcomes for graduating college students.
For decades, Baldwin Wallace has been a mainstay as a top regional university, with continuous accolades in the value and social mobility areas, reflecting the University’s commitment to affordability for all students.
BW's excellence was also recently affirmed by Niche, which ranked the university high in academics, faculty mentorship, safety and location, among other metric-focused categories. BW made Niche’s top 20 list of "2027 Best Colleges" in Ohio.
Niche is a free online platform that helps students and families research, rank, review and apply to colleges and graduate programs.
According to Niche, the "Best Colleges" ranking is based on rigorous analysis of academic, admissions, financial and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and alumni. The ranking compares more than 1,000 top colleges and universities in the U.S.
"The BW Way is a Life-Ready approach we began last year that encompasses bold and strategic thinking, clear priorities and a renewed sense of possibility for our students and the BW community," said BW President Lee Fisher.
"Our promise to students is that everything they do at BW will prepare them to be Leader-Ready, Team-Ready, Career-Ready and Future-Ready," Fisher went on to say.
"We are taking a visionary approach to what it means to be a university – a place where academics, mentoring and cocurricular activities are real world-focused and relevant to ensure that a student at graduation will have the tools needed for success in both a career and in life," he stated.
"The U.S. News and Niche rankings affirm that we are on the right path to success," he added. "Over the past year, I’ve spoken to the business and civic leaders of our region and to alumni, faculty and staff about our BW promise to our students. The response has been affirmative and welcoming.
"The momentum we are seeing is remarkable and marks the strength and ingenuity of this amazing university. Our academic programs are strong and in-demand for the skills they build. Support from donors and foundations is growing, and we are seeing an influx of new grants and partnerships coming to the university. It is an exciting and rewarding time to be at BW," he emphasized.
