In what has become an annual accolade showcasing the business acumen of BW students, Baldwin Wallace once again placed among the top winners at the ACG Cup®.
Held on January 23, the impressive competition attracted 16 student teams (both at the undergraduate and graduate levels) from universities across Ohio.
Sponsored by the Association for Corporate Growth, the Cleveland ACG Cup® is a case study competition where participants can gain invaluable insights into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity.
This year's case competition focused on a proposed merger between two regional airlines, with student teams acting as sell-side investment banks for the target airline. Entries were judged by investment bankers and wealth management, private equity and accounting experts.
The BW Carmel Boyer School of Business third-place winning student team included Nick Messenger, Jacob Weingart, Mark Wilson, Josh Mullenax and Nolan Szuch.
Also giving a strong performance at the event was another team of BW business students that included Ian Palmer, Devin Bennett, Katie Nowakowski, Radwan Zaarob and Jacob Borishcha.
The teams benefited from the faculty mentoring of Drs. Herman Sahni and Suresh Paul, as well as from BW alumni industry mentors George Monroe (Harris Williams), Alexis Becker (Carleton McKenna & Co.) and Scott Monaco (High Rock Property Advisors, Ltd.).
