Fall 2020 Virtual Conferring of Degrees Ceremonies

Saturday, December 12, 2020

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, BW will host virtual conferring of degrees ceremonies for fall 2020 graduates. Graduates, their families and friends will be able to join the celebration online. A special link can be found on this page the morning of December 12. The link will also be emailed to graduates a few days prior to the event, so graduates can share it with relatives and friends.

Graduates Students

The conferring of degrees ceremony for graduate students receiving a master's degree will be held online at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.

Undergraduate Students

The conferring of degrees ceremony for undergraduate students receiving a bachelor's degree will be held online at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.

Check BW email for Updates

Graduates need to check their BW email regularly for additional updates and details related to the conferring of degrees ceremonies.

Reading of Names and Graduate Photos

To make the event more personal, names of all graduates will be read and photos of each graduate will be displayed during the ceremony. Graduates were emailed additional information regarding photos.

Caps, gowns and hoods

Graduates who would like to purchase a cap and gown, or a hood for master's degree recipients, can do so through the BW bookstore. Contact the bookstore for deadlines.

Class of 2020 Virtual Yearbook

On the morning of December 12, the Class of 2020 Virtual Yearbook will go live. Photos, degrees, hometowns and plans for after graduation will be listed for all members of the Class of 2020. The Class of 2020 Virtual Yearbook will also include a recording of the conferring of degrees ceremony. It's a great way for graduates to share their accomplishments with family and friends. Graduates were emailed details on how to submit information for the yearbook.

Graduation mailing

Prior to the ceremony on December 12, graduates will receive a congratulatory mailing from BW that will include a diploma cover, a printed keepsake ceremony program and a new alumni gift. Once final grades are recorded (approximately one month after the end of the fall semester), graduates will receive a second mailing with their official diploma. Graduates who have changed their address in the last year will need to contact the Registration and Records Office.

Senior year is an important time as Baldwin Wallace students begin the transition to a career, graduate school or other post-graduation opportunity.

Amid the familiar routine of classes, internships and other activities, there is the need to submit graduate school applications, finalize vitas, resumes and career portfolios, and begin interviewing for jobs.
