Cleveland International Piano Competition’s First Round

Cleveland International Piano Competition's First Round

What to expect

First, you can expect to hear fabulous piano music from composers you know like Mozart, Chopin, Haydn. With the 2024 competition guidelines for expanded repertoire, you might also be introduced to less-recognized composers. Expect to be surprised.

In terms of format, each contestant will play for 30 minutes. In between performances, the audience is free to come and go as they please. We encourage people to do what best suits them.

And, of course, if you attend the 8 a.m. program on Friday, you can expect hot coffee and fresh donuts.
