About Andrew Fiala, Ph.D.

Fiala is Professor of Philosophy and Founding Director of the Ethics Center at California State University, Fresno.

He is the author or editor of more than a dozen books. He has published nearly 100 articles and book chapters, including the widely-used textbook (co-authored with Barbara MacKinnon) “Ethics: Theory and Contemporary Issues,” now in its 10th edition.

Fiala is also a former editor of the journal Philosophy in the Contemporary World and past President of Concerned Philosophers for Peace. He writes a regular column on ethics, religion, and politics for the Fresno Bee. Learn more >>
