Shannon Mortland joined the Baldwin Wallace faculty as an adjunct professor in public relations in 2013. She is the regional director of public relations for Caesars Entertainment. In this role, she oversees all public relations initiatives for the Ohio properties – Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, ThistleDown Racino and Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. She brings more than 20 years of experience in journalism and public relations to the classroom.

Prior to her tenure in public relations, Mortland was a newspaper reporter covering a variety of topics, including healthcare, higher education, government entities and crime.

Mortland has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from The Ohio State University and a Master of Arts in communication and leadership studies from Gonzaga University. She also serves on the marketing committee for the Downtown Cleveland Alliance.
