Dr. Beth Hiser is associate dean of the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. She previously taught harmony; solfège; form and analysis; counterpoint; and various seminars on topics such as the music of the Beatles and women in music at BW.

She published her book "Genre and Gesture: Robert Schumann's Piano Music for and about Children" in 2009. Hiser presented some of her work on gestures in Schumann's music at an international symposium and music festival in Lubbock, Texas. She also introduced her research on harmonic function in the music of the Beatles at an arts and humanities conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her research interests include pedagogy, Romantic aesthetics, diversity, world music and pop music. Hiser is an advisor for the BW Beatles and supervises projects in the Summer Scholars program.
