Dr. Charles Campisi teaches in the marketing and sport management department in BW's Carmel Boyer School of Business. He has taught for over a decade and worked in the sport business industry in various capacities with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Guardians, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Twins, University of Miami Athletic Department and the IMG Academies. He has taught sport management courses at Baldwin Wallace University, Lock Haven University and University of Minnesota.
Additionally, he has executed experiential learning trips for students to the past eleven Super Bowls, five College Football Playoff National Championship games, multiple Formula 1 races, and many other events. He is also a game day supervisor for the Cleveland Guardians and worked the 2016 ALDS, ALCS, and World Series.
In 2016, Campisi was awarded best college internship advisor at The Expys, Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education's annual award program recognizing excellence in internships and co-ops. He was also nominated for the award in 2017. Campisi is also a two-time finalist for the Strosacker Award for Teaching Excellence (2015 and 2017) and two-time nominee for the Bechberger Award for contributing in outstanding ways to student development and growth through leadership outside of the classroom (2016 and 2017).
Campisi earned his doctorate in sport management from the University of Minnesota. He received his Master of Science in sport management from the University of Miami (Fla.) and his Bachelor of Science in marketing from Syracuse University. He has been published and presented research on academic corruption, baseball in the Dominican Republic and student perspectives on experiential learning projects.
