B-W Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is an integral part of providing an exceptional education for students at Baldwin-Wallace College.  Since tuition and fees can't cover the full cost of a B-W experience, Annual Fund dollars are there to create opportunities for learning and growth that otherwise might not exist.  Participation in the Annual Fund by alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff also is important because it indicates the depth and breadth of confidence in the College by those closest to it.  Like each piece in a mosaic, every donor and every gift is vital to maintaining the ongoing strength of B-W ... year after year.

Every year gifts to the Annual Fund help make the B-W experience unique by helping support:

  • Scholarships and financial aid assistance
  • Student government, groups and programming
  • Social and cultural events
  • Internships and leadership opportunities
  • Outstanding faculty and dedicated staff
  • Counseling and health services
  • Intercollegiate and intramural sports

2008-2009Annual Fund Update

Thanks to all of the contributors to the 2008-2009 Annual Fund.  While we fell short of our goal of $1.65 million, we actually increased the number of donors by 192 over the previous year.  This was a remarkable accomplishment and speaks to the loyalty of our alumni, parents, friends and faculty/staff.  Our student callers raised $555,063(a new record), of which $106,795 was through credit cards.  The students spent over 2,600 hours helping the College while gaining valuable communication skills.

What you can expect from us…

In the fall we kick off the new fiscal year’s Annual Fund Campaign (fiscal year runs July 1- June 30). Some Baldwin-Wallace College alumni, parents and friends are e-mailed a letter from Paul "Sparky" Adams outlining the goals of the Annual Fund and the reasons for support and increased unrestricted gifts to B-W.

A current student of the college may follow-up that e-letter with a phone call to ask for support of the new campaign and answer any questions you may have.  These work-study students are also very eager to talk with you about current happenings on campus, as well as your experiences at B-W.

Once you make a gift to the Annual Fund, whether by check, credit card or pledge, you will receive a thank you note and receipt.  Don’t forget, all gifts to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible.  And speaking of credit cards, we are happy to announce that, for the first time, we are able to accept the American Express card.

To make your tax deductible gift online, please visit our secure Web site at www.bw.edu/giving/howto .

Thank you!

2009-2010 NATIONAL ANNUAL FUND CHAIR

“I invite your participation in the B-W Annual Fund this year.  Your support, along with that of the thousands of others that constitute the Baldwin-Wallace College family, enriches the student experience on campus and helps transform lives.  Every gift counts.  Every gift helps.  No gift is insignificant.  Please join me in the business of building dreams.”

 B-W PARENTS’ FUND

Why do we have a Parents’ Fund?  We at Baldwin-Wallace College know parents want the absolute best education for their children during their time here.  Parents also know there is much more to education than just classrooms and textbooks.

Each year, the kindness and generosity of hundreds of dedicated parents provide support for programs and services sustained by the Parents’ Fund, including:

  • Need-based scholarships
  • Undergraduate research programs
  • Career and job counseling services
  • Alcohol and drug education
  • Student organizations and events
  • Campus safety services

Last year, 927 parents donated more than $85,000 to Baldwin-Wallace College.    This participation by our parents, a gesture above and beyond tuition, sends a strong vote of confidence about the extraordinary B-W experience their children are receiving.

We understand parents make many sacrifices to send their children to B-W, but tuition and fees cover only a portion of the total cost of education.  Annual support, such as gifts to the Parents’ Fund, helps fund areas that might not exist otherwise.  Your participation at any level means everything to the students and faculty here today.  To make your tax deductible gift online, please visit our secure Web site at www.bw.edu/giving/howto .

Thank you!
