BW Grads Drive Business in Northeast Ohio

Following the mantra of "learn by doing," Baldwin Wallace University students help businesses across Northeast Ohio to grow through customized digital marketing strategies and services. 


The Digital Marketing Center (DMC) is an experiential learning program that matches teams of talented students with businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies in need of affordable marketing communications services, staff training, and digital transformation.

Student teams assist clients through new or re-launched websites, social media, marketing automation, and other tactics. Each team is led by a student account executive who gains experience managing projects, people, and budgets.

All DMC students receive certifications from Google, HubSpot, and other industry partners. Following the virtual co-op model, students complete most of their work on campus with structured client checkpoints throughout the project.


Since its inception in 2016, the Digital Marketing Center has worked with more than 30 clients, representing a range of industries and company sizes, from a national healthcare nonprofit to the Cleveland Pops Orchestra to a wealth management advisory with multiple locations throughout Ohio to Marble Room, one of downtown Cleveland’s most talked-about restaurants. Digital Marketing Center students make data-driven decisions and work with innovative technologies to help clients reach and exceed their goals. Whether its advising on free or low-cost solutions for managing social media or using complex applications such as Google Data Studio, Pardot or e-commerce platforms, students identify the tools that fit each client's unique needs.

Students also train clients on using software and apps, from Mail Chimp and Canva to WordPress, Hootsuite and more.


The Digital Marketing Center partners with the Ohio Small Business Development Center, the City of Berea, business incubators, philanthropic think tanks and other institutions to provide digital marketing training to entrepreneurs, municipal employees, and nonprofit directors. Through a city grant, Berea-based businesses may qualify to apply for grants toward the cost of Digital Marketing Center services.
