Open to all students. Taught in English. Students with German have the opportunity to use their language skills. If all assignments and reports are done in German, credit can be granted toward the minor or major. Students participating in "Germany Rocks!" must take this class in preparation of the trip.

MINIMESTER B

! GER-288I-B01 German Experience 6 S.Hollender
Prerequisites: Take GER-240 and GEO-111; Study tour in Germany and Austria, part of the interdisciplinary "German Rocks!" seminar. Guided travel through cultural and geological landscapes of Germany, including Heidelberg, Bonn, Cologne, Munich, Salzburg, Dresden, and Berlin, with excursions to Rhine River Valley, Black Forest, the Alps, and Sandstone formations in Saxony. Study abroad credit hours cound toward International Studies core requirement and may be applied toward a German major or minor. Geology credit can be earned in conjunction with this course by Independent Study minimester B with Professor Thomas. Participants must pay a program fee. Contact Explorations or the Department of Foreign Languages for more information. Preq: GER 240 must be taken first minimester. Must have taken GEO 111 (also available in first minimeter). No previous knowledge of German is required.
