employed
as
an
attorney
and
adviser
with
the
Office
of
the
General
Counsel
for
the
U.S.
Department
of
Homeland
Security
in
Washington.
Working with this large and prestigious agency, Szilagyi performs a number of roles including primarily advising leadership on labor and employment matters affecting the Department of Homeland Security.
"I am [also] responsible for litigating matters involving the department (including its components); managing and overseeing litigation handled by the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of the department; coordinating and responding to Congressional investigations; and reviewing, revising, and commenting on departmental policies, proposed legislation, executive orders and public statements by department leadership (including Congressional testimony)," Szilagyi tells us.
Of his time at BW, Szilagyi said, "I believe that my liberal arts education at BW, which placed an emphasis on strong and effective writing, has aided me tremendously in my subsequent education and career."
Szilagyi graduated summa cum laude from BW and went on to pursue a law degree from the College of William and Mary.
