Recent grad publishes first children's book

Jane Helen Cooper and her book Willie and the Tomato GardenJane Helen Cooper '14, who returned to BW to earn her degree after retirement from her "first career," recently published her first children's book, "Willie and the Tomato Garden," with Hugo House Publishers.

The 36-page, illustrated story, available in multiple formats, is illustrated by Diane Woods and focuses on teaching children to willingly share their beloved, prized possessions through a charming story of a dog named Willie and his three garden friends. 

New degree, new career

Upon retiring from a 30-year career in administration and customer service, Cooper decided to finish her undergraduate degree and graduated from BW in 2014 with honors and a Bachelor's degree in English and creative writing

While at BW, Cooper published works with the University's literary journal, The Mill. Since her poetry publications with The Mill, this is Cooper's first published work.
