Deborah RickertBaldwin Wallace psychology and communications studies graduate, Deborah Rickert '81, has taken over as CEO of Sharing Connections, a Greater Chicago area nonprofit organization.

Sharing Connections provides gently used furniture and household appliances to individuals and families in need of assistance, fulfilling a mission to "Share good things with good people."

Rickert, who came to Sharing Connections from Travelers United, Inc., a Washington D.C.-based consumer advocacy nonprofit, has forged an extensive career in the nonprofit sector, bringing more than 13 years of experience in development and strategic leadership to her new role.

Nonprofit Founder

She founded Operation Support Our Troops, one of the largest volunteer-based military support organizations, and served as president for 13 years. She still serves on the board of directors for the organization.

Rickert has been recognized with a number of awards including the Rotary Club of Chicago Woman of the Year Award, the West Suburban Philanthropic Network Humanitarian of the Year Award, the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago Hero Award for Citizenship and many more.
