Business alumna tapped for senior executive post at Medical Mutual of Ohio

Andrea HogbenAndrea Hogben ’94, MBA ’97 is joining Medical Mutual of Ohio as senior vice president of strategic communications. The company said in a news release that Hogben will report to Jared Chaney, Medical Mutual’s executive vice president and chief communications officer, who plans to retire in August 2017.

“I am ecstatic that Andrea is joining us and will lead our communications areas once Jared retires next summer,” said Rick Chiricosta, chairman, president and CEO of Medical Mutual. “She will be a great addition to my executive team.”

Record of leadership in Northeast Ohio

Hogben spent 22 years at the Cleveland Plain Dealer, her last three years as president of the Northeast Ohio Media Group (now known as Advance Ohio). A 2012 graduate of Leadership Cleveland, she serves on the boards of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the United Way of Greater Cleveland, and recently co-chaired the Marketing and Content Committee for Cleveland’s Republican National Convention Host Committee.

Founded in 1934, Medical Mutual of Ohio is the oldest and largest health insurance company based in Ohio.
