After a rigorous selection process, the Bellvue, Washington-based 425 Business recognized BW biology graduate Shaili Guru as one of their 30 under 30 business professionals, which includes area CEOs, business-owners, and designers "on the rise."

The 30 under 30 list acknowledges the unique path she took to becoming a senior software engineer with T-Mobile. Guru overcame many significant obstacles after moving from Ahmedabad, India to Cleveland at the age of 14; eventually graduating from Baldwin Wallace.

After college, Guru pivoted from plans to attend medical school and began a fascination with the tech industry, working her way up to senior software engineer.

In addition to her full-time career, Guru is also a founder and chapter lead of CodeChix Seattle, "a non-profit organization dedicated to the Education, Advocacy and Mentoring, of women engineers in industry and academia."

Guru's next goal is to pursue an MBA from the University of Washington. She starts her program in January.
