English professor Les Hunter's play "To the Orchard" is featured in the "Top 10" of the 2016, international Jewish playwriting competition.

Faculty Playwright's Work Featured Among the Best in International Project

Les HunterA play written by BW English professor Les Hunter was recently short-listed for an international playwriting award in the 2016 Jewish playwriting competition. “To the Orchard” centers on “family, making mistakes, retribution and coming clean,” a synopsis on Jewish Plays Project said.

Hunter’s play was chosen for the top ten ("the most promising, most intriguing") from more than 200 submissions and will potentially receive readings all over the US. Audiences are set to choose the winner in April. 

There will be a full production of “To the Orchard” performed in Cleveland. This production will be put on by Playwrights Local 4181 in May and June.
