Michelle Flanik ’97, MBA ’04 took home a top honor at the 2015 Crain’s Cleveland Business “Archer Awards” for Human Resources. Flanik is the Director of Organizational Development at American Greetings and was honored for Innovation in Human Resources.(She's pictured, center in blue, with her American Greetings cheering section.)

Praise for Work in HR and the BW Classroom

In praising her work, Crain's quoted the high marks Flanik receives from students in her human resource management class.

“She absolutely loves HR, and makes the class very interesting and enjoyable,” commented one student. Wrote another student: “Proficiently explains material and relates them to professional experience. She is not an academic only professor, what she teaches she applies in the real world everyday."

Flanik gets the same praise about her day job. Read more about Michelle’s nomination and accomplishments in Crain's.

You may recall that BW CIO Greg Flanik, (who also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from BW) was recognized by Crain’s back in April as their non-profit CIO of the Year. This “power couple” can now proudly display their Crain's awards side-by-side on the mantle at home.
