#bachwithatwist: Social Media Persona Adds Fun to Acclaimed Event

March 2, 2015

He's epic, engaging and even a bit edgy. After 265 years, he's back in action. And now, students, alumni, faculty and staff are following him. Even the general public. Will he be trending? Perhaps.

He's Johann Sebastian Bach. And he's come alive through social media in time for the 83rd annual Baldwin Wallace Bach Festival, April 17-19.

The renowned event, hailed the nation's oldest collegiate Bach Festival, brings to life the stirring passion and genius of Bach through performances, master classes and lectures.

Featured performers include acclaimed soloists, musicians and BW Conservatory of Music faculty and students. Also being spotlighted are guests lecturers on "Bach and the Brain" and "Mass Pandemonium: Why Bach's Greatest Composition is a Magnet for Controversy."

Another popular tradition, the Bach Festival Alumni Choir, unites alumni and students in an informal, lively master class, where the emphasis is on fun and not performance.

This year the Bach Festival broadened its scope to include other events. Under the leadership of Dirk Garner, the Festival melds masterful tradition with contemporary verve and vision.

The Bach Festival includes events that are free and open to the public, as well as others that require tickets. Subscription and single ticket sales are on sale now.
