Alumni Celebration Honors Award Winners and Welcomes Home Class of '65

May 18, 2015

A golden reunion and accolades for a distinguished group of alumni were the centerpieces of BW's 2015 Alumni Celebration.

Generations of BW graduates returned to the Berea campus on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16 for the annual Alumni Celebration, a weekend of events highlighted by a luncheon recognizing the 2015 Alumni Merit Award Winners and a Gala Dinner with special recognition for the Class of 1965.

During the golden reunion weekend, The Class of 1965 also renewed its colors on the Ring of Ribbons, a BW tradition that turned 100 this year and includes the class colors of every graduating class since 1915.

BW Student Ambassadors helped to host the weekend, which also allowed returning alumni to enjoy breakfast with President Robert C. Helmer, go “back to school” for engaging faculty classroom presentations, thumb through old yearbooks, and tour a campus that has evolved since their days in the classroom.

BW Alumni Awards and Honors

At Saturday's recognition luncheon, BW honored the accomplishments of five distinguished BW graduates with the Alumni Merit Award, the highest honor bestowed to the University's alumni. The 2015 recipients, were Robin C. Cottingham ’79, MBA ’96, Curt Miller ’90, Ron Soeder ’76, Ann M.Weeks ’94, and Michael Weidokal ’94. Read more about these accomplished alumni.

The Peterkoski-Roth-Koliha-Coughlin Family received the 2015 Family Heritage Award. Granted each year by the BW Alumni Association, the award recognizes and honors a distinguished family who, throughout generations, has provided many years of faithful and loyal service to Baldwin Wallace and made a significant impact on the BW community. The 2015 winner includes 22 BW graduates. Their legacy began in 1915 and is maintained by strong connections with the University today.
