Innovation Summit Headlines Global Entrepreneurship Week at BW

October 1, 2014

BW plugs into international celebration, staging a roster of events that includes CIG/Ernst & Young Innovation Summit, free innovation talks and a Cleveland pitch contest for women.

Baldwin Wallace University is marshaling resources to help show the way to successful innovation during Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrations, Nov. 17-23. Whether you’re interested in starting or growing a successful business, or changing the world through a nonprofit, BW’s Center for Innovation & Growth (CIG) and BW Blackstone LaunchPad are planning an inspiring and informative slate of events.

CIG/Ernst & Young Innovation Summit Features Heavy Hitters

Headlining the week at BW is a half-day CIG Innovation Summit, presented by Ernst & Young, on Thursday, November 20. The event will feature Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" award-winners in a TED Talk-style format, along with a lineup of heavy-hitting innovation leaders from The Burton D. Morgan Foundation, Brand Castle, C. TRAC, Carbon Vision and Allegro Realty Advisors.

BW also is partnering to host a regional Pitch Contest for Women Entrepreneurs on Wednesday, November 19 at Toast in Cleveland. The event is a collaboration of all Northeast Ohio Blackstone LaunchPad programs and Bad Girls Ventures Cleveland. Free talks on “Launching a Nonprofit” (with Liz Ferro from Girls with Sole!) and “Initial Funding for Your Idea” (with Brewnuts founder Shelley Fasulko) are also on the entrepreneurship week agenda at BW.

Part of an International Movement

All BW events (detailed below) are included among the activities listed in the massive, international Global Entrepreneurship Week database. The annual event, which started in 2007, is billed as “is the world's largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.”
