Sammy DeLeon has put together a combination of traditional salsa rhythms with a more aggressive and progressive style that lends an appeal to a multicultural audience. This style enables DeLeon's music to delight not just salsa, merengue, mambo and Latin jazz music lovers but also listeners of other music genres.

Being called the "hottest and most innovative young timbalero in America" by the Latin jazz giant Tito Puente, DeLeon has been the musical director while his band has backed up international salsa artists such as Anthony Cruz, Tito Allen, Paquito Guzmán, Giro, Pedro Jesús, Lefty Pérez, Ricardo Rey, Luisito Carrión, Hector Tricoche, Tito Rojas, Tony Vega and many others.
