The Baldwin Wallace University Department of Psychology presents the Harrington Distinguished Visiting Professor lecture series featuring Dr. Susan Fiske, the 2017-2018 Kathryn Grover Harrington & Robert A. Harrington Distinguished Visiting Professor.

"Talking Up, Talking Down: The Power of Positive Speaking"


Inequality and power dynamics between people are not going away any time soon.

Widely known for her work in social cognition, Fiske, professor of psychology at Princeton University, will discuss strategies that individuals use to communicate, understand and present themselves, especially across status divides. These strategies can often create misunderstanding and reinforce stereotypes.
