New Horizons Program

The New Horizons Program was started at the Eastman School of Music in 1991 and now has more than 100 programs in the United States and Canada. BW’s New Horizons offers adults the opportunity to learn to play a string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument. It is perfect for adults who have never had the opportunity to play an instrument or for those who played during their school days but have not had the opportunity since.

We offer bands (beginning, intermediate and advanced levels), jazz band, string orchestras (beginning, intermediate and advanced levels) and chamber music ensembles. We ask that members bring their own instrument. If you need any help renting an instrument, please call us at (440) 826-2365 so we can point you in the right direction. BW's New Horizons Program is a partnership of the Community Music School, Institute for Learning in Retirement and the BW Music Education Department.

No experience is necessary. We will even teach you to read music. Our program includes adults of all ages. Call (440) 826-2365 to sign up. Ask about our new members meeting on Wednesday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m.
