1. Will I receive a refund for the program fee?

Refunds for each program vary. Students will be notified by the Study Abroad Office with the specific details of the refund schedule for their program.

Given the number of students affected by this change, we ask for your patience as we work through each account.

2. What happens to my coursework?

Discovering China: Students will receive 3-credit hours for the Modern China course. The Experiencing China 1-credit and 2-credit hour courses have been canceled. If the cancellation of these 3-credit hours causes a student to fall below 12-credit hours, students are encouraged to add a mini-B course to their schedule. If students choose not to enroll in a mini-B course and fall below 12-credit hours for the semester, their financial aid may be affected and they should contact the Financial Aid Office immediately.

Global Sports: Students will remain registered for the HPE or SPM 4-credit hour full-semester course. All course work will continue as scheduled with the removal of study abroad portion.

London Theatre: Students will remain registered for THE 365I 3-credit hour mini-B course. All course work will continue as scheduled with the removal of study abroad portion.

Seminar in Germany: Students will remain registered for the CAS or HUM 3-credit hour mini-B course. GER-263 for 1-credit hour has been canceled. If the cancellation of this 1-credit hour course causes a student to fall below 12-credit hours, they are encouraged to add a mini-B course to their schedule. If they choose not to enroll in a mini-B course and fall below 12-credit hours for the semester, their financial aid may be affected and they should contact the Financial Aid Office immediately.

For all programs listed above, faculty may alter assignments and course content.

You may be concerned about changes to the specific courses in which you enrolled, please allow your professors to complete adjustments to the courses before reaching out to them. While most professors were aware such a step was a possibility, they still will need some time to develop new ways for you to meet the academic goals of the course. Your faculty will contact you soon.

3. Will I still complete the International Studies Core?

No. The program will no longer complete the International Studies Core. However, students will receive one I-credit for completing the on-campus course. Note: If you are a graduating senior, expecting this course to fulfill the International Studies Core requirement, please contact the Study Abroad Office to resolve your graduation requirement.

4. Will I still complete the EXPeriential Learning Requirement?

No. The program no longer includes the ‘E’ designation and therefore it will not complete the EXP requirement. Note: If you are a graduating senior, expecting this course to complete the EXP requirement, please contact the Study Abroad Office to resolve your graduation requirement.

5. Are there May-term programs in 2021 that are open to students?

Yes, we are accepting applications now for Spring 2021 programs.
