Academic Year 2020-21

Being part of the Baldwin Wallace University community means that each of us must take extraordinary steps to stay well and protect each other, both on campus and in the community. Students, faculty and staff are reminded that through their conduct, whether on campus or off, they are representatives of BW. It is the responsibility of each member of the BW community to adhere to this pledge to protect our on-campus community and the greater community around us.

I pledge to take responsibility for my own health and the protection of others to the best of my ability, and I pledge to keep the BW community safe from the spread of COVID-19 and other infections. As a member of the BW community, I pledge to:

Protect Myself

  • Take responsibility for my health and that of the BW community by daily symptom monitoring through the app provided by the University and promptly seek medical attention if necessary.
  • Follow handwashing and other hygiene guidelines.
  • Complete COVID-19 training provided by the University, stay informed of updates and communications.
  • Respect physical distancing and maintain at least 6ft distance from others both indoors and outdoors.
  • Clean my personal space, frequently touched surfaces and objects regularly.
  • Greet without shaking hands.

Protect Our Community

  • Wear appropriate facial covering in all public areas as designated by University policy.
  • Stay home or isolate if feeling ill or testing positive for COVID-19.
  • Be helpful and positive to others who may need support and guidance.
  • Follow campus signage and instruction.
  • Follow campus guidelines created to protect against COVID-19 and kindly address anyone who is not following the standards of this agreement and expect their positive response.

The University expects all members of the BW community to adhere to this pledge both on and off campus. Students who do not adhere to this pledge are in violation of the Student Code of Conduct and may be subject to disciplinary action. Faculty and staff violating this pledge may be subject to performance evaluation by a supervisor or the Office of Human Resources.
