Campus Communication: Educating ourselves about COVID-19
July 30, 2020
To all students and families,
This week we are focusing on the importance of educating ourselves about COVID-19 and the ways we can help create a safe and healthy campus. In the next week, you will receive an email with a personalized link to an online COVID-19 training module. All students, faculty and staff on campus must complete the training module.
Being prepared to arrive on campus during COVID-19 may seem overwhelming. The good news is that we understand more about the virus now than when it started, and we know more about the ways to help keep ourselves and those around us safe. Being prepared with the right information and choosing to take personal responsibility to protect ourselves and those around us will help make what may seem impossible more possible.
The training was developed and reviewed with support from certified subject matter experts and industry professionals. It focuses on the importance of healthy habits you can use at home and at BW to keep yourself and others healthy. The recommendations given are intended to assist you in your daily campus life. The training also requires you to sign the BW Be Safe pledge as a reminder of our responsibility to each other.
Get Inclusive (@getinclusive.com), our campus training partner, will email a personalized training session link to you in the next week. It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. It is important that all members of the BW community complete this training.
We ask that all returning students complete their training by August 23 prior to arriving on campus. First-year students will complete their training during Weekend of Welcome on August 20-23 and will not receive an email prior to arriving on campus. Faculty and staff are asked to complete their training by August 21.
As you count down to arriving on campus, we know you will have questions. We’re here to answer those questions as best we can and help you successfully transition to campus. Our most up-to-date information can be found on our Fall 2020 website. You can email questions to bwbesafe@bw.edu and please continue to check your email regularly for additional updates.
We hope you and your family are healthy and enjoying the end of summer.
