BW is known for the prestige of the Conservatory of Music, and Saturday night, one of my friends in the Con had his senior recital. The recitals are open to everyone, but usually filled with friends and family.
My friend is a percussionist, so we got to listen to all sorts of varieties of music involving percussion for the hour. My favorite instrument that he played was the marimba, which has such a beautiful and haunting quality if played a certain way. He even did a rendition of a song from Radiohead! Lol.
If you ever see recitals advertised around campus, go! It’s an opportunity to see the hard work of our Conservatory’s graduates and listen to some beautiful music. And maybe you can sneak into the reception and grab some free food afterwards, too.
