Tesia Benson joined the team at BW in 2011 as a Draper and Adjunct Faculty. Since returning to the Cleveland Area she has had the pleasure of serving as the Costume Coordinator for Opera Cleveland, and has also been associated with Dobama, Cleveland Public Theater, Great Lakes Theater and Cain Park. Recent designs include Time Stand Still for Dobama, Smokey Joe's Cafe for Cain Park, The Magic Flute for Apollo’s Fire and La Voix Humaine for Opera Cleveland. She enjoys the creative aspects of children’s productions and has designed The Emperor’s New Clothes for Little Vikings Children’s Theater and James and the Giant Peach for Cleveland State. Other local design credits include Trojan Women, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night and Into the Woods for Laurel School, and RENT and The Wiz for Near West Theater. She has previously served as Adjunct Faculty at Fullerton College in Fullerton, California where she designed five productions including Pippin and Take Me Out. During her time in Calfornia she was also associated with BIOLA University and designed costumes for their productions of Carmen and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Tesia holds her BA in theater from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her MFA in Costume Design from The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
