RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS

Here at BW, students are expected to read complex texts to fulfill a number of learning goals. The Reading Center can help students navigate the reading demands of any course with individual reading support services.

Reading specialists assist students with:

  • Practicing strategies to learn from textbooks more effectively
  • Making a plan to manage large amounts of required reading
  • Learning to use the features of texts to enhance comprehension
  • Matching reading and notetaking strategies to the goals of specific assignments
  • Reading closely to interpret, analyze, connect or extend ideas presented in texts

Our specialists match instruction to students' particular needs at every appointment. Students get better results from reading efforts by learning how to adjust the way they read to match different learning goals. Individualized reading support is available to help students confront any reading challenge.
