Welcome to the Master of Public Health program. We are very excited to embark on this educational journey with you. This page provides instructions on preparing for your graduate coursework beginning spring 2023.
Finalize Your Enrollment
- Set Up Your BW Network Account
-
The BW network gives you access to BW email, Canvas and lots of online resources you’ll use as a member of the BW community.
If you have not set up your account yet, please go to myaccount.bw.edu and confirm your identity. You will need your BW student ID number, which is printed on your letter of admission. If you need help with your student ID, contact the admission office at (440) 826-8012 or graduate@bw.edu.
- Send Final Transcripts to BW
-
Students admitted with coursework pending (final degree) need to send a final, official transcript to BW’s Office of Admission no later than December 12, 2022.
Transcripts can be sent electronically to admit@bw.edu or to:

2023 MPH Program Costs and Financial Aid
Employee Partners
Students with educational benefits from their employer will find that their benefits cover much of the program cost, in which case they may not need to apply for federal loans until summer or fall of 2024. For additional information regarding your employee benefits, please speak to your HR office. Employees of MetroHealth and Southwest General please see the following additional information:
- MetroHealth Employees
- Southwest General Employees
Financial Aid
Graduate School Loans
You can cover the entire cost of the MPH Program, including miscellaneous non-program costs, with Federal Direct Student Loans and Grad PLUS Loans. To qualify for these loans, you must complete the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. BW provides directions for completing the FAFSA.
To apply for a federal direct student loan and/or graduate PLUS loan, complete the FAFSA annually. BW’s Federal ID code is 003014. For the first year of the program, complete the 2022-23 FAFSA. If you have further questions or wish to talk with a financial aid representative at BW, please contact: (440) 826-2108 or finaid@bw.edu.
Tuition Reimbursement Payment Plan (TRPP)
BW’s tuition reimbursement payment plan allows you to pay your tuition at the end of the semester when your tuition benefit is available. TRPP extends your payment due date until 30 days after the end of the term. Students participating in TRPP will incur a finance charge, set at a reasonable level not to exceed the maximum amount permitted by law, and approximately half the rate of the University's standard finance charge. Currently the TRPP finance charge is 5% APR. Download the TRPP forms.

Getting Started at BW
- Campus Life and Other Program Items
-
BW Jacket Express Card
At the beginning of the semester, MPH cohort members will be allotted a Jacket Express Card from campus access services. Some form of a photo ID, such as a driver's license, must be shown to receive your Jacket Express Card.
BW has excellent event programming, including nationally-known speakers, concerts, theatre productions, art exhibits and athletic events. Most of these are free or available to employees at a reduced charge by presenting your Jacket Express Card. The Jacket Express Card also provides access to the Lou Higgins Recreation Center and Ritter Library.
Books and Supplies
Books are paid for by the Department. To obtain your textbooks, please visit the BW bookstore during business hours. Provide the cashier with your name and student ID for verification purposes. The bookstore is located in the basement of the Strosacker Union. See BW's virtual map for the location. Please call (440) 826-2205 with any questions regarding the bookstore.
Visit the bookstore online. If your textbooks are electronically delivered, you do not have to visit the bookstore.
If you cannot make it to the bookstore, they can ship the books to your home address. In order to get your books shipped you must email bookstor@bw.edu and provide them your name, student ID, address and the course name and number. Please ensure your address is up to date for timely delivery. Any questions regarding books, please email Rosie Jovic at rjovic@bw.edu.
Parking
Your classes will take place either virtually or at the MetroHealth main campus, 2500 MetroHealth Drive, Cleveland, Ohio 44109.
MetroHealth Main Campus
If you are not employed as a MetroHealth employee working at the main campus, the MPH program will give you parking vouchers to cover the cost of parking for each of the class meetings. You will park in one of the parking garages, taking a parking ticket when you access the lot. When you leave, you will have a parking voucher to cover your parking costs for that visit.
Baldwin Wallace University
BW provides student parking for MPH students while they are on the BW campus at no cost to the student. All students are required to follow University parking regulations. Visit campus access services for parking regulations and details. Students are responsible for any citation fines, payable at the BW cashier’s office in Bonds Administration Building. Unpaid fines are attached to the student bill after ten days.
Parking permit: Students will receive an email from the administrative coordinator regarding parking registration instructions prior to orientation.
Graduate Housing
BW is located just 20 minutes from Cleveland, and MPH students find many affordable housing options within the surrounding communities. While on-campus housing is not guaranteed as part of the MPH program limited on-campus graduate apartments are available. We recommend students apply for graduate housing early if they are interested in living on-campus.
Recreational Facilities
All MPH students are encouraged to use their BW Jacket Express ID card granting free access to the Lou Higgins Recreation Center for use of a fitness center, weight room, dance studio, multipurpose basketball, volleyball, badminton and racquetball courts, swimming pool, indoor batting cage and second-floor computer lab. The Tressel Lounge and classrooms/meeting rooms are also available for group meetings and studying. Cards for spouses are available for a nominal fee.
Health Services
All students enrolled in at least one class are eligible for services at BW’s Health Center (insurance is not required). Basic clinical care is provided with doctors and nurse practitioners available by appointment for additional services. Teleconference appointments are also available.
Counseling Center
Counseling services are provided at no charge to students for individual, group or urgent/emergency counseling services. A $25 fee is charged for psychiatry services. Walk-in and telehealth counseling appointments are available.
