Director and actor Dr. Jack B. Winget has plied his trade in the Cleveland area for the past forty years. Although Baldwin Wallace University and the Berea Summer Theatre have been his main venues, the Beck Center and Clague Playhouse are also beneficiaries of his distinctive talent. Recent plays that he has directed include “To Kill A Mockingbird,” “Laramie Project,” “Lend Me A Tenor,” “A Nightmare of Crime,” “The Odd Couple,” “Crimes of the Heart” and “Moon Over Buffalo." “A Nightmare of Crime” was a three-year project. Winget researched, wrote, produced and directed the full-length script to critical acclaim in the spring of 2008. A direct result of his work with students in the play, Winget was awarded the Bechberger Award for Human Development which recognizes excellence in working with students outside the classroom. In addition, he was the recipient of Ohio's Outstanding College Teacher's Award noted in the December 2009 issue of Ohio Magazine. Acting credits include Krapp in “Krapp's Last Tape” and Grandpa in “You Can't Take It With You.” Winget, a professor of theatre and dance, is also an auctioneer specializing in charity causes. Beneficiaries of these events include Party for Parkinson's, Berea Rotary Club Charity Auction and the Arts Management Association Fundraiser at Baldwin Wallace University.
