As associate dean of the school of education at Baldwin Wallace University, Dr. Michael Smith oversees the undergraduate teacher education programs. Smith holds the rank of professor and teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Prior to coming to Baldwin Wallace University in July 2017, Smith served as dean and associate dean for 19 years at Lourdes University. With 40 years of experience, Smith was a high school teacher, assistant principal and principal before moving to higher education administration. Smith has served on numerous national and state-level committees. Most recently he has been a member of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) State Alliance Design Team, the Ohio Clinical Alliance for Educator Preparation (OCAEP) and served as president of the Ohio Association of Colleges for Teacher (OACTE). Smith has also presented at numerous national and state conferences.
