Dr. Joseph Hruby is professor in the School of Education. He earned a doctorate in school leadership and curriculum and instruction at Kent State University, a Master of Arts in Education in school leadership at Baldwin Wallace University and a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts at Miami University in education 1-8, music K-12 education and music performance. Hruby is also a professional violoncellist, having studied with Ernst Silberstein, Linn Harrell, Jorge Sicre and Stephen Geber. Hruby holds the following professional certificates and licenses: superintendent, elementary and secondary principal, elementary education 1-8 and music K-12. His prior positions include assistant superintendent, curriculum director, principal and teacher K-12. He has worked in both private and public school systems. Hruby's areas of research include assessment (formative and summative), differentiated instruction, brain research connected to pedagogy and school leadership.
