Dr. John Gordon studied religion at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1977), Drew University Graduate School (M.Phil. 1980) and Lancaster Theological Seminary (D.Min. 1992).  He has taught religion and literature, religion and film, Christian ethics, Christianity in the New Testament, Jesus and the Gospels, introduction to process theology, ethics in film, visions of the end and contemplative spirituality.  His interests include the letters of Paul, apocalyptic, religion and popular culture and spirituality.  He is an ordained United Methodist clergy and also serves as the university chaplain.  In this capacity he leads weekly worship; works with various student religious groups; and serves the university community in promoting spiritual growth and development, spiritual wellness and mindfulness, interfaith understanding and service.  In addition, he provides short-term counseling and officiates at weddings and memorial services.
