Pierre David is a professor of business administration and teaches marketing and operations management, particularly as these disciplines are applied to an international environment. His primary teaching focus is in courses in international logistics and supply chain management. He has received the Bechberger Award for Excellence in Teaching.

He is the author of International Logistics, published by Cicero Books in 2013 and currently in its fourth edition. This is the best-selling textbook in this field, based on worldwide sales, and it is currently used in more than 35 countries. The book has been translated in Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Greek. He has also written more than fifteen online courses in international operations management, international logistics and international finance for the Accenture Supply Chain Academy.

He is active with Baldwin Wallace University’s Community Research Institute where he has led students in several community surveys for clients such as the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District and the Cuyahoga County Public Library. He has worked on two regionalization studies for the fire departments of seven communities and the police, fire, and service departments of four cities.   

He has earned a Master of Business Administration from Ecole de Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord in Lille, France, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate from Kent State University, all of which were in marketing and operations management. He has lived in four different countries – Tunisia, Switzerland, France and the United States – and visited a dozen more.
